Job Description
As a Car Importer, you will be responsible for sourcing, importing, and selling vehicles in Kenya. This role involves a variety of tasks, including:
- Sourcing Vehicles: You will need to identify and build relationships with reliable suppliers overseas. This will involve researching market trends, understanding customer preferences, and negotiating deals.
- Importation Process: You will oversee the entire importation process, ensuring all documents are in order and customs regulations are met. This includes arranging shipping, clearing goods through customs, and paying any necessary duties or taxes.
- Vehicle Inspection: Upon arrival, you will inspect the vehicles to ensure they are in the condition described by the supplier. Any discrepancies should be reported and resolved promptly.
- Sales: You will be responsible for selling the imported vehicles. This involves setting prices, advertising the vehicles, and negotiating sales contracts.
- Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service is crucial. This includes answering queries, handling complaints, and providing after-sales support.
- Regulatory Compliance: You must ensure all operations comply with local and international laws and regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the automotive industry, preferably in importation.
- Strong negotiation and sales skills.
- Excellent knowledge of import/export regulations and procedures.
- Ability to inspect vehicles and identify mechanical issues.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
